Disturbing news, people. I’ve just been informed that, apparently, some members of management at school may be reading this blog! Yeah, I know what you’re thinking – at least some people can be bothered to! But seriously, if anyone from my school is reading this, I didn’t mean anything bad I’ve ever said about the school, or the amount of coursework, or the colour some idiot (um, I mean ‘creative) decided to re-paint the Maths department doors with, or anything! Honest…
But I’ve realised, boy do I need to watch what I write here! Sorry, but principles are fine as long as you don’t have to get detention for them
Still on the subject of school, Nic Parkes’ local news website has been kind (some would say foolish) enough to publish a column I’ve written on secondary schools. Check it out here, especially those from senior management who aren’t considering a job in a private or selective school anytime soon. (But hey, guys, I’ve tried to promote Value Added as much as possible.)
According to Google blogs should be short so let’s wrap it up now… at Parent’s Evening tonight I was told I could be ‘a marketing director for Coca Cola.’ Disturbing news indeed.
… Windows XP rocks.
It’s stable, colourful, friendly and oh so brilliant! All the bad stuff about Windows pretty much disappears with XP.
To all Linux lovers… nah, you’re still pretty cool.
Oh, and to deviate completely, if anyone under 20 is reading this you’ll definitely know someone who always writes with ‘wot’ ‘wiv’ and’ ‘bi’
They’ll probably also write ‘Your sad’ and other grammar sins.
This is beginning to irritate me a lot now. Hey, I can’t spell very well. I have no idea why you should fragment a sentence to avoid a double something-or-other. I even say ‘Bob and me’ instead of ‘Bob and I.’ But really, please learn to write just a little bit. It’s less painful to read.
Well, my computer life is slowly getting back to normal, so I should start blogging again soon. PC2, the one with the dreaded Windows Me, has now been upgraded to XP Home and is working great. Networking among the 3 PCs is fine. Happiness is here… for now.
Of course, if Ken Livingstone doesn’t win in the London mayor votes my happiness will have been very short lived!
Hello!
I’ve just come back from Rome! Which was, of course, fantastic. Strangest moment – when the hotel insisted our swimming towels must be 100% blue.
And in computer world, the new PC is in boxes in my room, ready for me to set it up this afternoon, which probably explains why I’m too excited to be doing any work today. Sadly, PC2 has gone down the brink of insanity, and currently is ‘very unstable’. But it may soon be upgraded to Windows XP instead of Me (boo! hiss!) so that’ll be an improvement at least.
Got about 50 emails to get back to so bye for now, faithful blog readers (about 2 people I expect.)

Saw the above film today – very entertaining (especially Hollywood being destroyed) even though it followed the well trodden disaster movie formula. Don’t have time to do a full review, but if you like action movies, disaster films or just want to see giant floods sweep New York, go see this. Interestingly, the film was a ‘carbon neutral’ production as they planted trees (I think this is how it worked) to negate against the pollution the movie caused while making it.
