There once was a Tory named Flight
Who let slip the cuts in sight
Howard got mad
But the voters are glad
The Conservatives are dead tonight

How bizarre.

Note: It is incorrect to state that George Bush did not veto a single execution as Governor of Texas. Many thanks to Ward Larkin for pointing out the error. However, he did preside over 152 in 6 years.

President Bush has found time in his busy schedule of warmongering and prisoner execution to remind us of a person’s right to ‘life’ in a 15 year coma.

My beloved Creative MuVo MP3 player has finally packed it in. As always it did things in style, scrambling my tracks together so I enjoyed a weird remix of songs yesterday. But alas, it’s lasted a long time for a flash-based USB stick so it was time to move on.

Well, um, actually – I love this thing so much I’ve just ordered a replacement! OK, so it has double the memory (256MB instead of 128MB) and a cool FM radio player \ microphone \ LCD screen \ USB 2.0 capacity built in. But it’s still a MuVo! I don’t want an iPod, I don’t want a huge expensive thing that’ll get stolen at the first opportunity. I just want a tiny, faithful MP3\WMA player to wear round my neck when I go out.

This is more exciting that getting a Mac mini. (And yes, I am winding you up now!)

Just discovered this method today for getting rid of the stupid QuickTime nag screen where you have to click ‘Later’ to do anything.

1. Set the system clock to the year 2030
2. Open QuickTime, click ‘Later’
3. Reset the year
4. Enjoy!

I hate QuickTime anyway, it’s always much slower than a Windows Media or even [gasp!] Real Player stream, and the interface stinks. If I wanted a Mac, I’d buy a Mac…
