I just finished my ICT Database Coursework. It’s the third one I’ve done, and they’ve gotten disturbingly longer each time…
My first, Multimedia, was 25 pages.
Then spreadsheets was 44 pages long.
This evening I completed my database coursework at a whopping 61 pages!
Luckily, I doubt the 4th and final one (Web Sites) will be anything like that much. I am looking forward to watching my class struggle with FrontPage (ugh) and Dreamweaver, while I code merrily in Notepad all lesson. (Well not all lesson, I might stop for a while to try and kill the horrible desktop background they’ve forced on us all.)
I got quite stressed out today – but the mock speaking test went OK. I screwed up on a few words but not on whole sentences, and apparently my flow was good.
The worst part came when my teacher suddenly deviated from the script during the ‘Education and Work’ section. He asked what my favourite subject was, I replied, and then unexpectedly followed up by asking about my worst subject. Luckily I didn’t just blindly recite the next answer, but in a mind block I answered ‘Spanish’!
Do’h! Of course, I should have said PE instead of mildly insult the teacher in charge of examining me. No hard feelings…?
Tomorrow, at 9. Due to a bit of a mix-up really, because with my surname I certainly shouldn’t be first. Ah well, this is one of the reasons my blog posts seem to have dried up recently, and I’ve been on a Nic-inspired MSN strike.
It’s only a mock, but language orals have to be the most nerve wracking exams ever. I’d probably get scared if I had to do them in English! My post tomorrow will either be jubilant or depressed, so we’ll see…
However, my registry at school has been duly fixed and I can be happy about that at least.
There’s a new page on the ‘Messenger Plus!’ site called Get the Facts. Anyone who spreads false rumours about this excellent piece of software should be directed there.
You may have heard that certain schools in America are putting stickers on science books, warning the children that it contains the ‘theory’ of evolution which should be approached with an open mind.
Like most of the stuff that comes out of the middle (aka ‘dumb fuckers land’) of America, this is both hilarious and scary. Hey, I wonder if people said that about Hitler?
Anyway, those of you who think it’s a little rich to be lectured on having an ‘open mind’ by a system aimed entirely at closing minds and brainwashing can turn to these alternate stickers for solace.
Does anybody else think religious leaders make bets on the most stupid shit they can get people to sprout? I’d like to nominate several pharmacists in the US featured on Sky News this evening for the November award – “the pill is a form of abortion.”
