According to Google, they’ve increased the number of pages they crawl to over 8 billion. I wonder though – how many blog posts does this include?
Talking of blog posts and search engines, I’m debating whether or not to try and implement so-called ‘fancy URLs’ for this blog. Apparently, search engines aren’t too fond of php, but since the weekend I’ve become a big fan!
More Google trivia – the just-released Firefox 1.0 uses a specially branded Google as the default home page.
But best Google news of all award goes to this: Gmail is going to support POP3! Fantastic news! And it’s very interesting that it comes soon after Hotmail is going to ditch its free support for it. Webmail wars eh?

In other news – Arafat is said to be “between life and death” by the BBC – which is pretty much what everyone is, if you think about it; there really is no middle, because you never see the end.
By today, the 10th, we have:
More seriously, Arafat has moved into a deeper coma today. Officials say he is suffering from a brain haemorrhage (that’s intense internal bleeding) and claim his life is in the “hands of God”.
and now BBC News says: Israel agrees Arafat burial plans
Take a hint people! He is, for all intents and purposes, DEAD. They’re just waiting until they feel like making it official.
I’m just glad we’ve got a US President who has shown so much concern and understanding for the Middle East crisis over the past few years…
Starting playing this great Team 17 game again today. Copied my old saved scores across computers and jumped back in right were I was – now 88% is unlocked!
As Worms is one of my all time favourite PC games ever, I was delighted to see there’s a new version in development. Worms: Forts Under Siege is released on the 19th November. Yah hoo!
Greetings!
This is my first post using a completely new contact management system – the very cool Nucleus replacing Blogger. Myriads more options are suddenly available, so watch out for some more improvements to the blog coming very soon.
All my old posts have been painstakingly re-inserted, complete with the original timestamps and comments. That was one hell of a copy and paste job!
My websites now validates to XHTML 1.0 apart from this blog. Honest, it’s very close to validating but there are just some annoying bugs that are near impossible to fix without ripping up the Blogger innards.
Will has asked me to mention that the London number 12 buses are being replaced. This means nothing to me, so I refuse to put it in my blog. Whoops…
After watching yesterday night’s taped Have I Got News For You I wanted to find the American equivalent in laugh out loud political satire. And I’ve found it. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central is utterly brilliant and, best of all, you can watch loads of clips from each show online for free. Take note BBC, you need to get him to appear on HIGNFY sometime!
