Simpsons Season 4 DVD

Got it today (yes, day of release!) from HMV. Now that’s what I call top quality TV – so many favourite episodes. And of course it means I won’t have to endure Channel 4 to watch The Simpsons (Seasons 1 -4) on DVD. So there!

(Prediction – Channel 4 will destroy The Simpsons the same way they killed Futurama and The West Wing: incompetent scheduling)

“Mr. Plow, yes Mr. Plow, that name again is Mr. Plow!”

And very nice it was too – especially since there was a full moon party last night with fireworks. It’s good to lie on the beach and not have to worry about whether the latest Microsoft Windows Update will destroy your machine (I got to do that when I got home) but just relax. Oh, and kids: the sea is dangerous. Yeah, maybe I did swim just a little too far out… [gulp]

Not only did the latest Microsoft Update install fine on all three PCs when I got home, but I also found out my Pace Twin managed to record The Prisoner from BBC FOUR OK. I love technology when it works.

Sun! Sea! Sand! Bournemouth!

I had just been tipped off about BBCi’s new look on Freeview, a much nicer, prettier interface for their digital text services. And then it turns out that my road is on fire. Or, it could be a bit further away, we’re not sure. But wow, big flames – the whole family was watching from the attic window. (It’s like a big family ‘come together in times of pretend crisis’ time.)

And then the fire engines came and put it out. So now it’s back to BBCi.

I just ran Office Update to download SP1 to my copy of Office 2003, which was much harder than it should have been.

Software problems? Nope.
Badly made website? No.
Corrupted download? No way.

No – it was my Office CD. You’d have thought for a piece of software that costs a few hundred pounds they could afford to put it in a non-flimsy case. Yet I was forced to carefully rip the wretched cardboard thing apart just to get at the CD, which had somehow got stuck to the lid.

Moral : Please Microsoft, buy some jewel cases.

Well, I couldn’t revamp one and neglect the other, could I?

The blog is now integrated much more directly into the site, using the same stylesheet and design. ‘An ever more perfect union’ – as Bill Clinton shouted charismatically about 5 times to Democrats last night.

Comments on the new design are, as always, always welcome via the ‘Contact Me’ page or using the new blog commenting system.

I’m lovin’ it!
