I’ve been watching clips of the brilliant Daily Show for ages now, but today MediaGuardian reports that More4 have secured the UK rights:
“Other acquired programming will include US comedian Jon Stewart’s much lauded satirical Comedy Central programme The Daily Show and More4 will also take over broadcasting The West Wing from E4.”
This is great news – it will be must see TV for me, and I’m really looking forward to the launch of More4 after all the waiting! Freeview – you now have your ‘killer app’
Just got back from my second Hat Trick recording – Room 101. Was expecting it to be good since it’s hosted by Paul Merton, someone I’ve loved for ages. And then he announced the guest – Alan Sugar! Fucking hell! Paul Merton and Alan Sugar sitting together chatting, and I was 3 rows away from the front… that was just spectacular. Agreed with all his choices as well, he makes a great impression as someone who really speaks his mind and doesn’t act up for the cameras. He was also very honourable – not mentioning people by name when slagging them off. An all round decent bloke is the feeling I got.
I repeat – WOW!
(Oh, and no, I’m not after a job Sir Alan – he did put schmoozers in after all!)
My room’s been completely cleared out by now, including the PC, which is why I’m composing this blog entry from the middle of the hall at the top of the stairs. Tasha finds it hilarious, since now she can look over my shoulder as I type.
Katie (the younger one) is going off to the Gordon Brown Centre tomorrow, following a rite of passage which continues with the Isle of White next year. She’s still awake – but probably only because I’ve got the radio on. In the middle of the hallway.
Using a wonderful ‘Grade Calculator’ our ICT teacher gave us, I’ve worked out that given my coursework grades, I only need 46% on the final paper to get an A* GCSE. Needless to say, it’s not at the top of my revision timetable.
Today is a day to celebrate. We have a third-term Labour government, something which has never been achieved before in the entire history of the party.

As Nic will know (because I’ve moaned about it to him many times) my biggest gripe with Nucleus is the lack of a separate field for URLs \ Email in the comment field. Well, I’ve finally fixed it with the help of these guys which means that someone like Alex will be able to advertise their site with their comment as well as have a groovy gravatar to accompany it.
As you’d expect – your website is displayed – your email address isn’t. This caused a bit of grief this afternoon as I manually edited the MySQL tables to hide people’s email addresses they’d entered after I promised to keep them private. See how much I care about you and your spam-free inboxes, readers?
I love it when Nic redesigns his site – it always motivates me to do things like this!
