The Daleks are back! Like, on TV! Finally, people will stop asking me about my nickname!
Seriously though, that was one hell of an episode.
Staying on the TV theme, the BBC are current broadcasting BBC 1, 2, 4 and News 24 live over the internet. Please note that these tests are likely to end soon, so for the moment:
Two great days in a row… how lovely.
[Update – as predicted, links now dead]Just noticed BT have (finally) upgraded us to delicious 2Mb broadband from 512k. Nice one!
(Wow – after all today’s goodness I bet tomorrow will be shit, just to balance it out perhaps?)
Wow, that was so fun! Just got back from seeing The Kumars at Number 42 being filmed at Television Centre. Cast was excellent (watching Meera Syal fluff a joke by laughing too much is so cool) and the impromptu gags off screen were wonderful. Frankie Dettori and Joanna Lumley made great guests, Frankie in particular was very entertaining – when the cameras were off he seemed to relax even more and continued to chat for the audience.
And that’s not forgetting the warm-up act… I still can’t believe these things are free. Forget the cinema or theatre, just book some tickets for a TV show and turn up for a great night out. (And yes, it is smaller in real life, of course. Had to get the cliché in somewhere.)
Shout out to my wonderful cousin who turned up with many, many shopping bags and was surprised to discover a cloakroom service was not provided.
I had a really vivid dream last night – just before I woke up. I dreamt I pressed a secret keyboard combination (yes, I can remember what it was – the ‘Windows Key’ and ‘;’) which reformatted the PC automatically and then booted up to a ghostly Windows 95 screen in pink. I think it’s my subconscious telling me to back up!
A four day weekend awaits me now. Tomorrow involves picking new lights and carpets for my room. It’s getting redecorated – finally! – about time too cause the wallpaper is literally peeling off. How squalid. Anyway, I’m also going to see The Kumars at Number 42 being recorded tomorrow. And also try out that whole ‘revision thing’ everybody is talking about nowadays. More fun than Kaballah apparently?
Sorry. I’ve had a cold, and I didn’t think anyone would be interested in reading that. [sneezes]
I did manage to finally hand in my very last piece of coursework on Thursday, so am now officially coursework-free. Just got homework, exam revision and yearbook editing left. Oh, and talking of yearbooks – here’s an embarrassing picture from Year 8 that’s just turned up:
The hair! The smile! The braces! The slightly autistic stare!
Oh, and I never got a chance to register my disapproval at Alan Sugar’s decision last Wednesday in The Apprentice. I’ve agreed with him up to now, but firing Miriam – especially that week – was just wrong. My current favourite is still James, as it has been ever since Paul started showing his talents were quite limited. All IMHO, of course. As this blog generally is.
Well – if anybody’s going to shout out it’ll be Red Dalek. Hi Chloe, who was surprised to find I had a website because “I kept that quiet.” Say whaaat?
